Hello!
Firstly I'd like to thank you for swinging by my blog.
I hope to impart some of my experiences in the world of diet, nutrition, health and fitness to the world. I've tried quite a lot of different things and would like to share those experiences and lesons learned.
I'm a trainee military Air Traffic Controller.
I run quite a lot these days, as a result of trying to lose weight, entering a few races with a friend as motivation to get fit and never looking back! I've since been in several and race for my RAF Unit although I'm not the fastest at the events, I'm the fastest girl from my Unit that competes and I am very physically fit.
In the past I've hired a personal trainer, joined a few gyms, used the Physical Training Instructors in the Air Force. I've done my own research, trained with friends, used the internet.
I've tried several supplements, diet pills, superfoods and recipes and have opinions on most of them!
I'm at a point where the BMI calculator may not be accurate for me due to the large amounts of water and glycogen I store in my muscles as I run long distance about 5-6 times a week. On top of that, I will be more muscley, especially in my glutes and quads. I am on a calorie controlled diet. My net calories are not to exceed 1600 yet my daily caloric needs is around 2100kcal a day and have a BMR 1571.4 kcal a day.
I'm very in to cooking and love creating healthy recipes and meals and planning ahead. My favourite foods are Italian dishes and Eastern food. I'm not a GREAT fan of pastry except in fruit pies! I love custard!
My favourite flavours are:
Tomato
Basil
Rich beef
Aubergine
Strong Cheese
Red Wine/White wine
Champagne
Fish
Gin
Diet Coke
Bay leaf
Onions
Garlic
Vanilla
Raspberries
Dark chocolate
My favourite textures are al dente or "bitey" ones such as biting into the flesh of fresh fruit, tomatoes, meat and starchy carbs like pasta and potatoes.
I like fruit but I have to be careful as it really irritates my gut if uncooked, so apologies if you don't see many fresh fruit recipes in my blog. I do however eat and try to incorporate lots of fresh vegetables into my diet and recipes.
